Who i am

I’m Marc Johnson—a retired U.S. Army veteran with 23 years of service as a microbiologist, serving everywhere from Colombia, South America to the Demilitarized Zone in South Korea and places beyond.
I hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA), and I serve as a Board Vice-Chair, while also being a husband and father.
I’m running for President of the Navajo Nation in 2026 because I believe we need leadership that shows up when it matters. We’ve waited long enough for jobs, housing, transparency, and accountability.
Through my experience on the board of a Navajo NATION enterprise and my advanced training in business analytics and strategy I know how to rebuild trust, empower chapters, and lead with truth, technology, and transparency.

My Family

My name is Marc Johnson. I’m running for President of the Navajo Nation in 2026, carrying forward a family legacy of service and leadership in Upper Fruitland, New Mexico.

My grandfather, Harvey Harwood Sr., was a Korean War veteran who worked for over 30 years as a surveyor at Navajo Coal Mine. He also served as Upper Fruitland Chapter Secretary, Treasurer, and Land Board Grazing member. My uncle, Hubert Harwood, also from Upper Fruitland, served as Chapter President.
My grandmother, Eleanor Harwood, dedicated 34 years of her life to education at Nenahnezad Boarding School.
My father worked in coal mining as a heavy-equipment operator at Navajo Mine for 36 years.
My mother has taught 2nd and 3rd grade at Ojo Amarillo Elementary on the Reservation for over 30 years.
My daughter, Jordan, is my inspiration—Harvard graduate, now an Executive Director with Austin FC major league soccer team. ⚽

My daughter jordan:

Jordan is a 2017 Harvard University graduate, she currently holds an executive director position at the major league soccer team, Austin Football Club. She is amazing, we love her.

our son Zion:

Our 4-year-old son Zion was born in 2021 and is currently in pre-school here in San Francisco. Fun fact: he was born at Indian Health Services in Shiprock, New Mexico.

Meet my wife zandy:

I met Zandy while stationed in the Philippines, and she became my greatest blessing—the one who opened my eyes and heart to seeking God..

Zandy has been Fashion modeling for many years, gracing countless events with her natural elegance.

Beyond modeling, she is a gifted artist whose creativity flows into everything she touches. She owns an Etsy shop where she shares her unique designs with the world—each piece reflecting her passion, culture, and eye for beauty.

Whether on the runway or through her art, Zandy continues to inspire others with her talent, dedication, and grace.
